Here is a new keyer I recently built. It uses one of the Idiom Press electronic memory keyers. I think it is hard to find
a better keyer. Note the meter face. It was made using a piece of software written by Jim Tonne (www.tonnesoftware.com)
and is one of the most useful tools that I have in my software toolbox. You can make meter faces with up to 3 scales in multiple
colors. I print out the meter faces on gloss photo paper and paste it on the meter plate. Go to his web site and download a
trial copy and experiment.
The front panel labeling is made by using any graphics design program (i.e. VISIO)
and printing out the panel onto clear sticky laminent available at any office supply. The laminent is made for name badges.
You are limited to 8-1/2 X 11 inch panels. I first print it on plain paper and use it as a drill jig for the holes. This
insures that the clear laminent fits perfectly. Note that you can use all the color and computer graphics you want. It
sure beats the dry transfers that we all have used for years.
A new keyer....
